Are any prosthetics ever kept customizable or do patients ever return to have things visually changed? Could you see your work ever expanding into a commercial cosmetic market? What are your thoughts on the possibility of people looking for parts of their face replaced by choice rather than as the result of an accident or such?

Temporary plastic surgery

I think you might have stuck the gold mine there! I mean make-up is already a temporary aesthetic enhancement so something like a custom glue-on product like you mentioned could be huge.

Thanks very much for your reply, the point on their inability to move or function like organic body parts was particularly interesting. Is there any research into having that overcome in the future? Like some sort of membrane that perhaps contracts and expands dependent on what happens around the area of the prosthetic? (This is a very uneducated and vague stab at an idea haha)

Wow, that's such a bizarre concept. That's the first I ever heard of it!

Do you think that this was deliberately instigated by the girlfriend at all?

Do you have any specific anxieties related to the incident, like answering doors?

Has anyone ever confronted the girlfriend about this? Has she ever tried to contact you at all?

During the court procedures did you ever see the guys that attacked you? If so, how was their reactions? How did you feel?

Was there ever any contact from the attackers, an apology, remorse etc? Did you ever hear of their thoughts on it etc from a mutual source.
