I thought I was in r/trees when I read this. First thing that popped into my head was that this guy was some crazy Canadian marijuana version of Johnny Appleseed.

Sure, any harassment is bad. The problem you often see on reddit (and what I think brodega is referencing) is that the angry reactionaries don't make any effort to conflate the two. They instead use the existence of one to avoid any conversation about the other.

"Sexual assault is a problem" is met with "BUT IT HAPPENS TO MEN TOO WHY ISN'T ANYONE TALKING ABOUT THAT INSTEAD??"

It derails the conversation and makes discussing the one issue impossible.
