I can actually answer this.
The owners have had lots of problems with the law even though the waivers are technically legal. It's a grey area and not exactly well liked among the governments.
They've had to shut down multiple locations due to various complaints including noise and disturbing the peace.
The wikipedia page has more information on McKamey Manor's legal troubles.

Come on dude, don't suggest that faith has anything to do with surviving a condition as severe as cancer.
The reason that survivors emphasise that is because they feel that they owe to a power greater than humans. They think that they survived something that they maybe shouldn't have due to some divine purpose that they have yet to fulfil. It makes sense, you survive the impossible and you have to attribute it to something beyond yourself.

More like she understood what it was like to be almost dead. Unless of course you're saying to be alive is to be almost not.

Interesting thought.
Counter point: We can choose when we die, up to a certain point where it's physically impossible for our bodies to continue functioning. We can also sometimes choose how and why we die.
I think everyone knows that death is inevitable they just refuse to face it maybe ?

You did NOT just quote Master Oogway in a cancer thread.
Kudos, this is brilliant.
"that is why it is called the present" - is how it ends.
