So what would you suggest to people who might consider volunteering?

Thanks for your service sir, my great grand pa was a marine in the pacific from Guadalcanal to Okinawa. He always said that his job was hard but not nearly as hard as the bombers flying overhead hundreds of miles an hour and thousands of feet up in the air

My question is, how did you spend your down time when you were not busy dropping freedom on the Nazis? What airbases were you stationed at?
