Oh Lordy, I am very glad you have chosen reddit to share with. I read most of the posts and comments and can just say...at least marijuana was legalized in a couple states. I believe it is cruel and unusual punishment to lock people the way it is done. I mean...especially for non violent offenders. How long have you been sober?

This just astounds me. How many people have been encarcerated in last 20-30 years.

Why was your dad encarcerated for 24 years, I saw he was sentenced to 20 in the link you gave.

Omg especially since about 1980... All of a sudden the amount of people encarcerated increases like a mofo. Before, for 50 years its not nearly as bad

Hello, I am grateful for your work. I read nearly every Q and A as well as listening to the Justin Helzer interview. That sound cloud downloads good on my 2G mobile device. I do believe I will listen to the rest of the interviews. But... I have not heard anything about MSNBC Lock Up. What is your opinion on the quality of their portrayal of our crime and punishment system?

Hi, good AMA and I liked your website. The stampede trail looks beautiful. I was skimming most the questions and when I saw the bus one I had to look.

I heard about Chris and his story a few times over the years and always thought 'oh neat' but I'm not that interested. Later on I read the book and eventually saw the movie. I know why everyone was talking about it. For a while I was left unsure about his ending until I saw something online how a test of some poison berries matched Chris's symptoms exactly and a follow up confirmed that he probably would have made it except for his misunderstanding about the berries? Does this sound familiar? Do you agree? I could imagine that the combination of trying to return but seeing the river flowing too much and then loosing the moose meat did add up too. What do you think of Chris's close to last words. " happiness only real when shared" I thought it just meant he was expressing the need for community. Thanks
