My cat lived with another cat before I got her at maybe age 2. First day home she got up on top of the fridge and cried and cried. Never happened again till ~8 years later in a different house. She had made friends with the cat across the lane. It would come over and hangout in the house and such. One day my cat went up on top of the fridge and cried and cried, next day the neighbor came over and asked if we had seen her cat. Obviously my cat knew what happened to her friend. Nobody else ever found out though.

Do you ever considering moving South? It is somewhat amazing to a southerner (relatively South anyways) that people can survive and thrive and STAY there with basically only a few animals, rock and ice.
