How do you reconcile the free markets in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Shenzhen with Maoist doctrine?

How do you feel about Taiwan? Also (anecdotally) in Taipei, mainland Chinese tourists seem to be (by far) the ones shopping in the most decadent luxury stores (Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Burberry and so on). Is this indicative of inherent contradictions within the communist system and Communist Chinese leadership becoming Bourgeoisie and exploiting the proletariat?
