On the flip side....imagine the joy you get when you: tell a patient their cancer is in remission, deliver yet another happy and healthy baby to ecstatic and joyful parents, call a family to tell them that their son was rescued from the suicide attempt and can get the help he needs.

Or any other situation that reminds you that yes, death is a part of life but the medical profession stands in the way of that inevitability often enough to provide a sense of satisfaction and reward that makes it worth it.
