You do realise that Singapore is far from a Muslim nation right? Muslims make up only about 14% of the population. It is a microstate in a Muslim region, yes, but definitely not a Muslim nation (nor a nation of any particular religion, for that matter).

In your interactions with Singaporean students, do you find the youths to be truly politically ignorant and apathetic? If yes, what do you think can be done to ameliorate this situation (if it is even possible)?

Re: your first paragraph - would you say the Yellow Umbrella movement in HK was an anomaly then, considering the number of students who participated in it? Off the top of my head, an answer that comes to mind is that the circumstances itself (i.e. an increasingly dominant Beijing) forced this out of the youths.

Fair enough. But what would you consider as "too political for the government's liking"? Or to put it another way, what do you think a young person could do generally in terms of "improving" the local political scene?
