I believe you are referring to the Battle of Kohima.

4,064 British/Commonwealth casualties to 5,764 Japanese casualties, to which British Field Marshall Bill Slim wrote after the battle: 'Sieges have been longer, but few have been more intense, and in none have the defenders deserved greater honour than the garrison of Kohima.'

  • did you have any speciality such as Radio triangulation, manpack, Battalion Signaller etc?

  • On average, how many batteries did you carry/use?

  • Do you keep in contact with other veterans?

Just going to be cheeky and ask one last question, what was one bit of non-issue kit that you would take whenever you were deployed in the field/everywhere you went?
