Ooo, cool! Thank you for your... (service sounds odd) efforts!
When you were hired on, did they ask pointed questions about communism and socialism? Questions that would not be asked today?

Good question, and not exactly.
Any time your putting your body into a high pressure situation, in the air or under the sea, a small pocket underneath your wisdom teeth (or teeth, if you've had surgery or replacement done) can build up pressure. I've heard it feels unbearable the more pressure you put your body under. When I was going for my diving certification, one of the guys couldn't finish because the pressure on his teeth was too uncomfortable when diving, even in the pool!
Some people may experience this regularly while flying, but I think it's rare.
EDIT: Yes, yes. I know I messed up the explanation. It's not the pressure exactly, it's simply gasses in little pockets inside your body expanding and contracting due to various changes. I have made mention to this several times in my comments below this one, with links.

Ah, "two weeks" was the amount of time it took him to give information to the authorities when he was imprisoned in RI.

I don't have a clue why, but I've had a crush on Natasha Lyonne for a long time.
