The extreme option would be for both of you to obtain citizenship in a 3rd country. That means you both have to renounce your citizenship in some cases, that might be a sensitive issue. but hey, if you guys work out and have kids, it's a fresh start for them.

How would visiting each other's country work? Do you need to get a special visa? Is that even possible?
