Pets. Visitors are not allowed to bring pets with them. Our Pet Policy allows a certain number of dogs and cats here, and the pets that we have are contingent on space being available in a compatible residence. Generally, new members do not bring their pets with them, but find someplace else for them to live. We do have a Waiting List for cats and dogs, but there are rarely openings.

The vacation fund on top of personal savings from their allowance makes it very plausible to go on vacation I'd say. It's not like he's staying at a resort necessarily.

Vacation fund. Rotated by seniority. Currently $400 and members become eligible every 5-6 years, on average. May only be spent for vacation.

Edit: Not to mention that the website also says

Income earned during membership is the property of the Community, except:

Vacation Earnings

a. Definition. Vacation earnings are income earned by members on vacation time and off of Twin Oaks land.

b. Restrictions on Spending. Vacation Earnings may be spent only when outside of Louisa County for at least 24 hours and only on consumable items (i.e. transportation, meals, lodging, entertainment; NOT possession to be used on the farm.)

That's probably intentional I imagine.
