Why do rank and file /non rich scientologists put up with the exploitative nature of it over the long term?

I understand how they get into it, but what keeps them going once the drudgery sets in?

I appreciate how the Libertarian party has positioned itself as the only good choice when the alternatives are so bad, but the reason we have such bad alternatives is the plurality FPTP voting system we use.

Why hasn't the Libertarian ticket addressed this and do have a position on comprehensive voting reform?

Hi, I read the strong towns series on a land value tax which seems to be great idea for a stable, or growing city to provide services and deal with urban parasites, but what are the implications for the struggling, declining towns that are the losers from the suburban experiment or economic dislocation?

Would shifting to that sort of funding model make it so these sorts of communities with declining land values die out even sooner? Or would it at least make it more difficult to engage in ponzi growth efforts to stave off the inevitable?
