Do you speak any Russian? Do you think someone who does not would enjoy the trip?

Thanks. I should say my wife is Russian. I am French living in the US and I have been to Tomsk for a couple of weeks. As long as I am with her, I do ok :) I share your experience and have found most people curious and friendly behind the Russian grumpiness but I was curious about the Trans Siberian. I have a friend who travels a lot and I think she would like doing it but as you might guess she does not speak Russian either so your view is useful. I will send her a link to this thread :)
