How might an Olympic bid for LA work together with making traffic better in LA?

Landing an olympic games is obviously a long and uncertain process, but I'm pretty sure Villaraigosa threw LA's hat in the ring to become the US candidate for the 2024 summer games. Should things progress in LA's favor, I'm guessing transportation infrastructure will be a component of the bid to the IOC.

I doubt there is the will power either, so this fantasy will probably have to live in my head. But yes, the auto train looks like what I was thinking of. If auto train stations were placed at the major freeway intersections people could skip the sections of freeway where they would not be exiting and free up those lanes for people who are exiting along that section.

I can settle for self driving cars as well. That sounds good to me. What is the timeline on that?
