Thanks for the AMA. I only got round to finally reading and watching Trainspotting late last year, and I was amazed that I'd never seen them before. You, sir, are a genius.

What were your inspirations for some of the characters from Trainspotting, as well as the story itself? Have you had experience before with addiction? And please suggest one of your favourite pieces that I can read haha.

Always suspected as such. As someone who has been around addicts and admittedly had my own problems with drugs over the ears, but none too serious, I got the feel that Trainspotting was way too realistic to be written by someone who didn't know about addiction. Thanks for answering, I'll be sure to check out Sex Lives of Siamese Twins; because that title is just too intriguing to pass up. Have a great week!
