Hello! I wrote my thesis on coups. What's your take on Thailand? What makes them such a special case and statistical aberration?

Not available online, and it was only backed to a hard drive that literally blew up, but they should still have it filed away. It was on Southeast Asia as a whole with a large portion devoted to Thailand. I've written several shorter pieces on just Thailand as well. I'll request a PDF to be sent!

I noticed in each new constitution, the writers write in a protection clause that protects all coup enactors as well. Seems, like you said, to be a culture of coup acceptance.

Edit: thank you for taking the time to reply!

Pardon me if this sounds crass, but isn't that how you stopped being a degenerate (edit: or more appropriately perhaps, started being a contributing member of society) as opposed to how you stopped being a conspiracy theorist?

I have a well-paying job, hold multiple degrees, have a pension and deferred compensation plan, well-balanced stock portfolio, a stable relationship with my SO, a second job in which I help my community, and healthy hobbies, yet I still subscribe to the belief that the public is often lied to. Again, I don't mean to come off as rude, but I don't see how a job and financial stability correlate to either being or not being someone interested in conspiracy theories.

Hopped out of my usual hole on this site to say exactly this. The for-profit prison industry is a modern day form of slavery and doesn't encourage rehabilitation.
