Not OP, but I read an article about the planned operation. By head transplant, OP means that the doctors are planning to attach his head to the donor body. Assuming everything goes according to plan, he'll have a fully functional body with his head attached, with eveyrthing working as it should. The muscles will be connected to the corresponding muscles in the donor body.
