Is that a thing in the US? I think here in Germany they have to put a warning label on it if they put anything on that skin, and since then nobody buys them anymore, they can’t do that here.
Besides, what’s the point? Potatoes last forever! (Much better valentine’s day gift than a shitty rose that falls apart a few hours later. What kind of message is that sending? ;)

You know what the worst part is? Wikipedia’s disambiguation page for “yam” lists “sweet potato” too.

How would you not? Sweet potatoes have this (to me utterly disgusting) sweetness, yams not.
Maybe they can devise a test mechanism. By feeding them to me, and seeing if I throw up. :P
(I also throw up from raw grated carrots, topinambur and similar should-not-taste-sweet sweet things.)
