Maybe you're just looking at it the wrong way. I mean, I totally respect your first-hand experience, but to be honest when you say things like,

it makes me think that your version of "life" is exactly what this guy and many others are trying to get away from. The point is to realize that life does not equal "hot" tv shows and freaking Blackberry. Maybe you should have spent that time talking to other people, getting outside, traveling, reading, volunteering, or doing other activities.

Now, obviously I use the internet, so I'm not trying to throw the baby out with the bathwater. The internet is an incredible tool. BUT it's just a tool. NOT REAL LIFE. If your life is dull without it, you should probably face up to reality that you're living a dull life anyway, you just pacify yourself with this fantasy world. If people want to live in the matrix that's their prerogative, but don't pretend it's real life.

Thank you for responding and clarifying your point. This to me is way more convincing than what you mentioned earlier. The internet definitely aids and contributes to real-life activities and it's good to know you had that perspective.

Can you provide any insight into the arms trading going on? Where are these rebel groups getting their weapons and how are they buying them?

I'm glad you're willing to open up about the sexism in your industry, which is obviously an issue for you since you are talking about it. That's very unfortunate it's going on and you should fight back against your employers and/or coworkers, not just talk about it here.

But in addition to that, I feel like you're using this AMA as a platform to push your opinions about your industry and it's environmental impacts. How can we trust you to be honest about fracturing when you have such a biased perspective?
