What is amazing to me in my mind is that I see cell phones as a weapon.

Wait till something crazy goes down, those cell phones mean people will document it instead of doing something about it.

What's it like to know that you might have taken place in one of the worlds first car jackings?

I came into this AMA thinking I was going to run into someone completely convinced that guns are totally evil and that they need to be taken away from everyone. Not a fellow veteran with his head still screwed on straight. I'm glad your daughter is going to be okay, and I wish nothing but the best for her, and your entire family.

It's both wonderful and sad at the same time.

I think it is great for the freedom of mankind for people to be able to instantly document and share something like that... Think, even ten years ago that wasn't possible. It makes it so people get to see the personal side of a story that isn't necessarily chopped up, cherry picked, and specially spun by news media companies.

It is tremendously sad, however, to see people just stand there and record shit when they could be breaking something up, or getting involved in a positive way.

I remember when I was a kid, a fight in school would go for ten seconds before a bystander jumped in and broke it up. I've broken up fights like that before, and although it might risk you getting hit, sometimes it's worth it, especially if you know both belligerents. These days, man you just see everyone in the circle recording it, snickering/jeering/cheering, while these kids beat the hell out of each other.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks this guy has a huge chip on his shoulder. I get it, football is dangerous, but football has a bunch of good points too... It builds teamwork, coordination, planning, and it's a heck of an entertaining spectator sport by nature. Tobacco gives a slight rush that almost completely goes away with any kind of tolerance, then causes major health problems down the road.

I hardly think the NFL advertising and marketing to make money, because they're a business and that's what businesses do, is comparable to tobacco companies that know full well they're peddling a substance that has no beneficial place in society.

Like you said, this shit sounds like some classic Huff Po "muh opinions are newsworthy" drivel.
