cutting-edge optics that are more complex to manufacture than many high end DSLR lenses

No offense, but I find that a little hard to believe, high end dslr lenses consist of like 14 elements in 10 groups and need to be able to very rapidly autofocus, not to mention things like flare control and ED elements, what's going on with your optics that competes with that sort of complexity?

Warren Buffett just bet a ton on oilsands.

He also owns a railway that's now carrying 10x the amount of oil it was 4 years ago, because that's how we're bringing oil to market with Obama dragging his feet on Keystone XL.

One of the major reasons that investment was down in 2013 was the Canadian government's introduction of new regulations to slow foreign investment following CNOOC's acquisition of Nexen

Meanwhile, some are projecting 2014 to be a record year in oilsands development expenditure. Which is probably the battle you're actually concerned with here, not acquisitions on a company's ledger.

These things are also important to note. To suggest that delaying the Keystone XL is somehow crippling oil sands expansion is disingenuous at best.

While you're stamping your feet down in DC, we're busy drilling and increasing capacity by more than Keystone XL would have. Not that we wouldn't take both, but we don't need the Keystone XL, we needed that 4 or 5 years ago when there was a severe glut. The industry has adjusted to the fact that it may or may not ever happen and has worked around it.

But hey, congrats on making us ship that shit around by train instead of pipeline. That's a victory I guess?

Have fun, hopefully it's warmer there than it is here.

EDIT: Fixed link from Buffetts 2013 investment in the oilsands to his April 2014 investment in the oilsands.

Well if those are the best weapons that can be made, I'm not too worried.
