Way back when I was in college, in the early '80s, I had a Nigerian classmate who was proud of his family history of people who caught and sold fellow Africans to Europeans/white Americans.

I had a buddy who had travelled all over the world on the 'I've got $5' plan, even though his family was rich. He was in Venezuela or Colombia and got some weird intestinal infection. His family paid for a medivac plane to fly him from South America to Miami, where he was hospitalized for over a month, and after that, he basically convalesced at a friend's house in Florida for several months. I told him if it had been me, my family would have been hard pressed to get my body sent home.

My wife loves to tickle me, and I've very ticklish. However, I absolutely hate it. My older sisters used to tickle me as a means to 'weaken' me as a little kid, so that I was easier to control. After several years of marriage, I think she finally got it that it's something I just don't enjoy at all.

Were you at all hesitant to take a role in a series that, so far, has tread a very fine line between 'serious' and 'surreal?'
