Holy shit. I've never wished I could hug someone on Reddit more in my life. I know in your line of work, doing a good job can mean the difference between life and death, but other dispatchers could have very easily dismissed the call, and this young woman could have had a very different ending to that night. You're fucking awesome!

As another girl with AI (as well as a huge amount of other genetic medical issues, cancer, diabetes, etc) here. I'd rather be alive with these issues than not. They are workable and livable problems, and we can still have full and awesome lives regardless. It can be annoying and painful to deal with, but to think that I'd be mad at either of my parents for considering to have children despite the rampant diseases in their families is silly to me.

Maybe if I was to be born with no limbs or something so drastic, but many diseases considered terrible still allow independence and good lives, even if the lives are potentially shorter. No one's life is perfect, these are just the ways my life specifically is imperfect.
