Spartan races are often compared to tough mudder. Other than burpees what would you say is the biggest difference between them?

Thank you so much for the answer and it made me smile when you highlighted that tough mudder is focused more on the party aspect. I completed my first tough mudder last year and have the second one this weekend. I am also signed up or my first spartan beast in October. One of the things that really turned me off about tough mudder was the costumes. This is suppose to be a test not a joke. I have a feeling this will be my last tough mudder and all spartan beasts from here on out
