This happened with my cousin's son. The father is unstable, but we didn't realize how badly so until their 6-month old boy ended up in the hospital with internal bleeding, lacerations, and broken bones at different stages of healing. We later found out it was because the little boy had begun to get his grandmother's red hair. The father went to jail for a few months, during which time the mother (my cousin) insisted he had never done anything.

The father is now out of jail and back to living with my cousin, and they just had another child together. They only lost custody of the older little boy for two or three months.

EDIT: I can spell.

Many people from the region are that way. My grandmother was born and raised Danish, lived on a farm during the Nazi occupation. As a young girl, she watched Nazi soldiers hold her father at gunpoint demanding that all the eggs and milk from the farm be handed over. Her mother held her ground, saying there were no eggs that day. She hid those eggs every day so she could feed her family, and lied to the Nazis about it.

When I started getting interested in learning about WWII as a little girl, I would watch Sound of Music. My grandmother flew into a rage when she saw what I was watching, refused to let me watch it in her house. When I got into high school and started studying German, I hid it from her for a long time. She did not appreciate it on bit when I finally said I studied German so it would be easier to pick up Danish later.

I only once have given an UberX driver a 3 star rating, and it was because he went through Chinatown at the busiest part of the day and made the trip unnecessarily long. I wasn't angry or anything, I just got the impression he didn't understand where he was going very well. Uber got back to me really quickly, said they would talk to the driver about routes and GPS, and processed a partial refund for what the route difference would have been. From a customer point of view, I was pretty impressed.

I have 3 questions for you, I hope you'll bear with me!

1) What was the hardest part about starting your own magazine?

2) How many women are on your staff?

3) How would you rate your experience with Kickstarter in helping fund journalism? (For example, you have a very niche market, has that affected responses?)
