Do movies/reality shows/ documentaries portray your profession correctly?

Interesting viewpoint. Why do you think of that?

Just to add on, I always wonder why I feel so out of place every time I enter an exhibit, maybe it is just me. :(

The words of LKY = The truth.

Ya, does that mean to be qualified as a historian, you must be labelled by the authority? :P

1] What are some of the challenges when trying to obtain sources which are not found in the Singapore archives? Do you feel that time is always against you as you try to gather sources like oral history from political exiles?

2] Do you believe there are amateur historians working on SG history? Although they don’t have the professional qualification, experience and are working with limited access to materials, what do you think of them and how can they help/improve in better ways?

3] As we all know and experienced before, the Singapore education system and mainstream media are controlled by the government; the Singapore Story is skewed in favour of the PAP and there is little chance (by my feeling) that people can read the lesser known sides of SG history, do you think there is a way to make these lesser known histories more ‘visible’ to be read by the people?

4] Casual question: If one were to be interested in reading beyond the official Singapore Story, what would you recommend (where to start and etc.)?

I am curious, what kind of rules do you have to follow when writing textbook?
