What's your favorite weapon system, from a tech point of view, and why?

In the mid-90's you did a science fiction convention in Southern Virgina. I was a tiny teenaged kid. We shared an elevator from the lobby upstairs and had a pretty cool conversation. You were a pretty nice guy, and really cool. I stepped off the elevator where all of my friends were waiting for me. They saw you as the doors were closing, "Do...do you.... do you know who that WAS???" "I think so," I replied. I then received a solid beat down from half a dozen of them for not harassing you for autographs, swag, story spoilers or anything else. I thought it was pretty funny.
