Exactly, people were expecting it to be the graphic novel, but accurately depicting the novel would fit more into the category of Ryan's work, but so much worse, and no money could be made from that (that would be so rough to watch, i might actually be scarred) it just did what hollywood COULD to show the novel some respect, which is all you can ask for
