Is Sufiism still a prevalent trend in Islam in Chechnya?

Can the alleged bombers' motivations be attributed, in part, to the rise of Salafist Islam in Chechnya and concomitant anti-West/US feelings it engenders?

Now that Chechnya is once again under control of Russia through a Russian-friendly government, has it developed into a first-world society? (I ask because I imagine all institutions and infrastructure must have been devastated after the Russo-Chechen Wars.)
