Hi Ahmed, and thank you for doing this AMA. What project(s) do you have that you'd like to talk about?

If you have a teacher in a class with, say, 15 kids per period, 6 periods in a day. If they are all different kids, you are exposed to that many kids’ previous exposures, alongside your coworkers.

An office or warehouse worker would not be exposed to that many people throughout the day. A supermarket clerk might, but they may have a glass wall advantage and they would have a team of people cleaning around them.

With teaching, the risk vs. reward is financially low, and you are at the mercy of parents who are naturally prone to sending sick kids to school. Teachers are not as easily replaced as supermarket clerks, either.

We’re all in this together, but when school system leadership acts like a ceo of a failing business instead of an education leader, it puts everyone at risk. This, partnered with the fact that schools won’t be as ready to provide ppe as a supermarket chain, should speak loudly to the risk that teachers are taking right now.

What's up Hokie, Hoo here. I remember our first responders in Charlottesville departing en masse immediately when the news broke, and I often think about what you and your classmates must have been going through and how surreal it all was. What kind of changes were made in your life the moment everything went down, and how have you approached even the smallest tasks in life with the memories you have?

I applaud you for this AMA.
