Daraprim was a drug no one was researching. He raised the price and put the profits into R&D in order to improve a drug that was decades old, fairly ineffective, and largely ignored by other pharma companies.

If anyone could not afford it, he gave it to them for free.

On its face it's easy to think the evil bad man raised drug price to hurt sick people, in reality no one but insurance companies paid the higher price and the profit from that went towards improving a drug that desperately needed improving. You bought into the media witch-hunt.
