Candy is negligible. Guards often hand out hard candies for extra jobs the inmates do. I can have my whole unit cleaned, scrubbed, windows done, floors mopped and every cell cleaned for 10 pieces of candy.

So, essentially, it's an elementary school.

Eugenics has a funny history.

1. America loves it
2. Hitler loves it, cites the Americans
3. America finds out Hitler likes it, decides it's not the cool thing anymore

And the entire time this was going on, the understanding of genetics on the part of these policymakers didn't even account for recessive genes, so it wouldn't have worked.

So now, everyone says that eugenics is

1. Murder
2. Literally Hitler
3. Not scientifically possible

Despite the fact that none of these are true. In reality, saving people from a life of serious disability and a low quality of life is a mercy that apparently can't be dolled out by the squeamish.
