Why must you keep Betta fish in 8 ounces of water? Why not dedicate 3-4 at least 5g tanks for just 3-4 bettas so they actually develop colors and look great?

I've definitely seen all the terrible sales happen that you describe. With 20 Betta turnover a week I feel better. But some of the smaller stores I've seen the same Betta selection for a month. Glad you seem to be trying to improve.
