No questions, I just really appreciate your posts, and want to say thanks!

OK I lied - I'll ask 1 question: would you rather fight 100 pigeon-sized horses or 1 horse-sized pigeon?

Huh. Soporific always sounds dreamy to me. Then again, I have insomnia.

My anecdotal evidence supports this hypothesis.

Let's say I have a friend. He used to be a highly motivated and ambitious workaholic in his 20s and 30s. Then in his 40s+ he realizes that he's just not going to become the giant success he felt capable of becoming. He's not going to become the next Elon Musk (or whatever picture of success and independence he's been striving for). He's burned out; he's clinging to his job for the security of his family, circumstances have gotten in the way. Driven more by fear and reactivity, instead of driving ambition. He has great potential but doesn't have the sustained drive or energy to realize that full potential. He's sometimes angry and jealous that other peers with less talent seem to achieve success; success seems arbitrarily bestowed on others. His one goal now is to make enough to retire, and that's not enough to drive him to excellence, to feel proud of his accomplishments. How can he rekindle that "fire in the belly", that he had in his naive 20s-30s, in his 40s, 50s and beyond? What can he do to get motivated?

Thank you (from my friend :)
