I have a criticism of the gabfest, even though it's a highlight on my ipod: podcasts are a real opportunity to give coverage to topics and stories not already covered by the MSM, and yet the gabfest regularly - almost exclusively - chooses the lowest hanging fruit for its discussions, basically the headlines of the week.

So, the related question: is the podcast something like an after thought, done mostly because, hey, everyone is doing it so we better too? It seems that no one is really throwing their back into thoughtfully programming the topics - you even cloud source them these days! Your intellects are a huge gulp of fresh air, and because of that - plus your considerable chemistry - the gabfest could be much, much more.

Was...sorry. So I take it you were not thrilled contributing to a behemoth that many of us view as a great, great sadness? (I recognize we're all just doing what we need to do to scrape by, and I would never fault someone for that. Sometimes you have to take whatever shit show job is being offered. But man, that family is a gang of rotten dauphins...).
