Obviously it's very different laughing at/with someone you are friends with and someone you've just met, but my narcoleptic friend actually says the best thing about our friend group is that we do laugh and joke about the condition rather than taking everything super seriously. It can be funny without belittling the condition or mocking the sufferer. Basically what I'm saying is the 'don't laugh' rule may vary depending on the situation and person! :)

I'm so sorry to hear that your friends were so crap about it though. I can't imagine abandoning my friend at that kind of time, just when you really need some help and support.

What kind of things count as 'tissue'?

I've heard multiple people talk about being freaked out by the concept of 'eye' donation (as in I know several people who are signed up as organ donors, but specifically opt-out of cornea donation). No one seems to realise that it's only the corneas that are donated/don't seem to know what corneas are. Do you often come across this misconception in your line of work?
