Nick how do you avoid the use of fact shaping in evidence based politics where, for example, two candidates can use the same data set from the same study and hand pick which facts matter and which facts don’t so they reach different conclusions for different agendas?

I don’t know who already downvoted you but this was what I was getting at. I’d really like to hear his response to this.

Look at the time. The ama doesn’t start until 1p. The post begins earlier to build questions in the comments so he can hit the ground running when it starts. At 1p he logs on and checks all the comments and immediately starts responding. It’s pretty efficient.

Thanks for the reply. I can’t help but feel the complexity of intermediaries and regulated transparency will only confuse the general populous even more, making the basis for a scientific approach to analysis in politics less effective.

I’m familiar with peer review, but like you I’m not sure how this can be applied to politics and then communicated to the people in a clear way. Hell, even findings after peer review aren’t articulated to the people accurately.
