Why didnt you just slap him back, if he beat on you itd have been in front of everyone. The thing that gets me, and i dont mean to offend, is that you actuallu threatened his life.. whereas his actions were probably just an outlet for bottled up aggression from abuse at home.

Its terrible what you had to endure but i just hope you learned truly violent retaliation is never the answer.

I'm not really familiar with situations like this.. But couldnt you hire a private investegator to obtain photo evidence of your ex wife's home situation? Especially if shes living with a drug dealer.

What are the locals like?

Have you considered starting a commune on your land ? If so, what sort of plans would you have for the land?
