Thanks for posting that. I was trying to formulate in my own mind why I dislike Ellis's writing and voila! up pops David Foster Wallace to articulate it for me. My brain feels better now.

It always sort of surprises me how many men I know DON'T like strip clubs. They find it depressing that so many of the strippers are downtrodden, they don't like paying so much money for so little action, they don't like the "who's exploiting who" dynamic of the guys trying to get as much as they can for as little money as possible with the girls trying to get as much money as possible for as little as they can put out, they don't like the fake boobs and fake interest from the girls. I know a lot of guys who really dislike strip clubs now.
