I respectfully disagree with this idea. Valve put a lot of time in the design of the robotic characters in Portal 2.

Many think of bondage when they examine GLaDOS's posture primarily because of her two ''arms'' appear to be bound behind her back. But I believe the character designers were trying to convey a posture of dominance. Like an evil emperor of sorts.

She is in complete control of the facility. Not the prisoner but the cruel warden.

Yeah I thought that would come up. I wouldn't exactly consider her to be 'trapped' , the facility is essentially her entire life, it depends on her and its basically her (and the players) entire world.

As for her being trapped in retrospect, aside from what we discovered in Portal 2, she isn't conscience trapped in a machine she IS the machine.

I always feel very squeamish reading about drug testers and the uncertainties that might occur. How sure are the researchers about the possible side effects? Do they run chemical tests first hand? Do they have an idea of what might happen or are they completely oblivious to something completely unpredictable like your testicles falling off in a month's time.
