How old are you? How "traditional" was your childhood compared to others (or other generations).

Also, I'm assuming you're American. "Tribe" seems like an American used term mostly...

So if someone ask what "tribe" you're from, would you say that you are of the Cherokee or Apache, depending what you are. Or does it refer to the reserve and your government?

(Where I'm from in Canada we just call them bands to refer to the government and we just say what our family is, no one seems to really use the word tribe...)

I don't know, no one ever asked what my "nation" was. If you're from a specific area you're just assume be whatever is there. (I live in Manitoba but Im from Ontario so people just ask if I'm ojibwe).

I was wondering the specific of what a tribe was, if it was what you are or if it referred to your government.
