Why are you so set on misinforming the public about the lack of a map for county level data, when there have been dozens of them around for several months?

Data Driven Detroit is yet another in the long list of those that beat you to market. You really have to be careful about making such easily disproven claims in the data world.

We consume JHU and NYT data as part of our county level map, and I'd he curious when you feel they stopped updating their data. Our map has been online since early April (and had been in development since mid March), and their data has been continuously updating the whole time. They did change the data layer when they added additional fields to the data set, but there was never a time when we weren't able to pull new data daily. Perhaps it took you a few days to notice the change of data layers at AGO?

Either way, your words ring false again. You're really running the risk of making a PR nightmare for yourselves with this AMA. Perhaps you should reconsider your marketing next time - ESPECIALLY since your "mea culpa" response is just copied and pasted anywhere someone calls you out for lying about your map.
