What's the general feeling about the UK? Do people generally feel that the UK has a role to play to help fix the situation? Or that it has absolutely nothing to do with it?

Thanks for answering too. I'm from the UK, and I know many Brits are firmly on HK's side and would like to help. I guess there's also a feeling here that we historically have a habit of leaving more problems than we fix, and a feeling that it's possibly not our struggle to get mixed up in. It's certainly on the news and on the radio a lot here.

Those in the UK who have unwelcoming attitudes towards immigrants from say Eastern Europe or the Middle East often have a very different attitude to immigrants from former UK colonies
