We hear all sorts of stuff about how the Japanese people don't want the games to go ahead.
What do you and your fellow athletes feel about this?
(Genuine question. I used to work at a sport National Governing Body in the UK so I know how important the Olympic cycle is in terms of getting funding.)

Funding. Professional athletes rely on funding so they can concentrate on training etc without worrying about money. Funding is often tied to the Olympics - do well at the Olympics, receive more funding.

Yeah I understand. It's tricky because I get why the Japanese are objecting but I also get that athletes want, and in many cases need to compete.
Thanks for answering and I hope you have a great games.
