How much of a threat is Mt Rainier. Is it realistic for it to blow anytime in the next 100 years? I'm relatively new to Washington and living near volcanoes and it's beautiful; however, I am not really sure what kind of actual danger I am looking at daily.
And thank you so much for that hazard map!! I am very close to the yellow lahar area yikes!

There are a few key ingredients required for tonadic thunderstorms. Moisture, lift, instability, and shear. All these can be present in the environment around a tropical cyclone leading to supercells and possibly tornadoes.

It's not solved. Most of my family and many coworkers are skeptical of getting the covid 19 vaccines with zero evidence of it being unsafe. Imagine if something happened where a producer of an open source vaccine made a mistake and actually harmed people. We would hear no end of it. It would make it even more difficult to convince others that it is safe.

The reason he doesn't look further than 10 days out is because the state of the atmosphere is way too complex to accurately predict beyond 10 days... and that's with extremely powerful supercomputers doing the work.
