Do you think how the industry selects artists has changed from when you discovered Coldplay? What are your thoughts on the industry today?

How do you personally weigh all of that against quality of the act? There's a heavy focus on 'numbers' since the social media boom which appears to have lead to many groups being picked up because of their 'following', even though there is no longevity there in their music.

Do you feel the industry is currently favouring quick easy turnaround rather than thinking long-term and backing the next Coldplay (etc)?

edit - Does the current industry feel more focused on numbers/business than music? And what do you think about that?
