Most of my family is conservative and they are ride-or-die Trump supporters. As a lesbian who works in education and cares deeply about women's health, I struggle with their inability to recognize how much damage Trump's administration has done to the communities I care about the most. Whenever I try to bring this up within my family, I'm dismissed as overly sensitive and disrespectful toward their political beliefs. In this divided reality, how do you suggest people like myself approach the issue with their family, if at all? I can't just ignore these things that matter to me but I also don't want to contribute to widening the rift between us.

I would really love to help my parents go to Hawaii...pretty rough year so it would be awesome to do so but I am on a budget. Is Hawaii on a budget possible? Would a cruise be cheaper than plane and island hopping?

You make me miss my travel days! I've only been to about half the number of countries as you (haven't explored Asia but am dying to once I get the chance). I work a boring job but am considering Peace Corps or teaching abroad to get back out in the world! I hope you find an awesome career path that allows you to keep travelling because it is definitely addictive. Once you taste the wonders of the world, there is no way to suppress the urge for more. Wishing you the best!

I just want to say that I hope this didn't give you an overall bad taste for Chile. I studied abroad there and absolutely loved the country and its people. Funnily enough, I never had any issues my entire time there (and I travelled around quite a bit) but had my wallet and phone stolen a week after I got back to the states - assholes are everywhere. But anyway, it's an awesome country and the diverse landscape is pretty cool too.
