What's the difference between legal advice and just letting someone know what the law is, if there even is a difference. Just curious!

The OP's question was "At what point can a car be considered a lemon?" Are you not allowed to look up what NC's law is and tell him? Or is it not that black and white?

I received my B.S. in Industrial Engineering about 3 years ago. I worked as an IT consultant for about 2 years and have spent the last year in new product development. For this entire time I've worked within electric utilities. I'm currently getting my MBA part time but feel like I'm doing it just because and not due to any sort of business passion. My father worked as a Civil Engineer for near 30 years and I always feel myself gravitating to it when I think about what I could see myself doing long term. I've been toying with the idea of transferring any applicable graduate credit hours into a Master of Civil Engineering program instead.

With zero Civil Engineering experience, a B.S. in a different discipline, and potentially a master's in the next year or so, what could I expect by trying to break into the Civil field? Is there any way to cater a resume to getting into the industry now and not "wasting" another two years (for a total of 5) doing work that won't necessarily help me in the long run? My biggest fear is I'll have to throw 5 years of work experience away.
